Chuck Fenda, born Leshorn Whitehead on June 15, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, is a prominent Reggae artist known for his conscious lyrics and socially uplifting music. Though born in the United States, he was raised in Jamaica, where he developed a deep connection to the island’s culture and its rich musical heritage.
Fenda’s journey into music began in the 1990s when he was inspired by the messages of Rastafarianism and the struggles of the underprivileged. He initially pursued Dancehall music, but over time, his style evolved into a more conscious Reggae sound, earning him the nickname The Living Fire for his fiery lyrics advocating for justice, love, and spiritual upliftment.
His breakthrough came after linking with King Jammy’s studio in the late ‘90s, leading to collaborations that helped establish his presence in the industry. Later, he joined the Fifth Element Records camp alongside Richie Spice, where his career truly took off.
